Summer is in full swing in Graymoor-Devondale, and we have several important updates to share with residents. This month’s newsletter includes a recap of our July 4th Patriotic Parade, information about the 2026 Tree Planting Program, road and traffic calming updates, community events, and city ordinance information.

🇺🇸 July 4th Patriotic Parade Recap
What a wonderful morning celebrating Independence Day with neighbors, families, bikes, wagons, floats, festive outfits, and plenty of red, white, and blue!
Thank you to everyone who came out for the Graymoor-Devondale July 4th Patriotic Parade. From decorated bikes and patriotic helmets to wagons, floats, and smiling faces, it was a great reminder of what makes our community so special.
We appreciate everyone who participated, helped organize, cheered along the route, and made the morning festive and fun.

🌳 Tree Planting Program Now Accepting Applications
The City of Graymoor-Devondale is excited to announce the return of the Tree Planting Program.
Residents may apply to have a tree planted on their property through the city program. The application includes the available tree options for residents to choose from.
Applications are needed by the middle of August so the final tree order can be submitted.
This is a wonderful opportunity to help grow our tree canopy, beautify our city, and invest in the long-term character of Graymoor-Devondale.
🚧 Road Work & Traffic Calming Update
The City continues reviewing road maintenance needs and traffic calming options throughout Graymoor-Devondale.
Recent discussions have included proposed speed hump locations on Lynn Way and Girard Drive. To make things a little more fun, we’re turning the locations into a community contest!
🔎 Can you identify the proposed speed hump locations?
We have four proposed locations. The first person to correctly email each address will win a $50 gift card to a Graymoor-Devondale business.

The City is also continuing to coordinate planned road maintenance, including milling and resurfacing Girard Drive between Greenlawn and Crossmoor as contractor scheduling and final scope details allow.
Additional work is also being reviewed for pothole repair needs and City Hall parking lot resurfacing.
We appreciate residents’ patience as the City works through scheduling, engineering, contractor availability, and final project details. Thank you for helping keep Graymoor-Devondale safe, informed, and engaged!

🏡 Tax & Budget Ordinance Update
The City has received the new Tax and Budget ordinance information for the 2026–2027 series.
Residents are encouraged to review posted city ordinance information and stay informed about city finances, tax rates, budget planning, and other official city business.
As additional information is posted, residents can review updates through the city website and official city communication channels.
☕ Upcoming Community Event from Episcopal Church Home
Residents are invited to an upcoming community event at Episcopal Church Home.
Join Episcopal Church Home for networking, donuts, and a brief update from the Alzheimer’s Association. Attendees can learn more about how to support local families and help advance Alzheimer’s research in Louisville and across Kentucky.
