The City of Graymoor-Devondale is excited to announce the return of the Tree Planting Program, giving residents an opportunity to add a new tree to their property this fall at no cost.
The City Council has allocated funding to help increase our community’s tree canopy and beautify neighborhoods throughout Graymoor-Devondale. The program is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and applications will be accepted until available funding has been exhausted.
Program Details
- One tree per residential lot
- Tree and planting labor provided at no cost to residents
- Installation performed by the City’s contractor
- Residents may select from the City’s approved tree species list
- Trees are scheduled to be planted during Fall 2026, weather permitting
Residents are responsible for watering and caring for the tree after planting, particularly during the first year of establishment.

Choosing a Planting Location
Before submitting an application, residents should carefully consider:
- Utility and drainage easements
- Overhead and underground utilities
- Sunlight exposure
- Distance from homes and structures
- Mature tree size and canopy spread
- Long-term maintenance requirements
- Potential impacts on views and surrounding landscaping
The final planting location will be reviewed with the City’s contractor to ensure the tree will not interfere with easements or infrastructure as it matures.
Application Deadline
All applications must be received by August 15, 2026.
Because funding is limited, residents are encouraged to apply early.
