Hello Graymoor-Devondale Neighbors,
We hope everyone is staying warm and prepared as we head into the weekend. We have a few important updates to share — including a significant winter weather event, a reminder about being good neighbors, and a fun event coming up nearby.
❄️ Winter Storm Warning: “Snowmageddon” This Weekend
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area.
Timing:
Saturday morning through Monday morning
What to Expect:
• Heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain
• Snow totals could reach 10–15 inches in parts of the region
• Ice accumulation may cause power outages and tree damage
• Travel could be very difficult or nearly impossible
Please Prepare Now:
• Avoid unnecessary travel if possible
• Keep flashlights, food, water, and blankets ready
• Charge devices and plan for possible power outages
Road conditions can be checked at:
• Indiana: 511in.org
• Kentucky: goky.ky.gov
🤝 Be a Good Neighbor (Especially During Storms)
Winter storms impact more than just roads — they affect people, too.
Last year, trash and service delays created frustration across the city. A reminder as we head into this storm: the folks at Waste Management are human beings doing their best in dangerous conditions.
• Delays are likely — please be patient
• Avoid angry or threatening calls or messages
• Stay tuned to official Waste Management updates for service changes
Most importantly, look out for one another.
If you notice a neighbor’s power is out, check in.
If someone needs help, lend a hand when it’s safe.
We’re a strong community — and we’ve got this.
