Unfortunately, scammers continue targeting residents across the country, including scams involving fake jury duty claims.

In this scam, callers pretend to be deputies or law enforcement officers and claim you missed jury duty. They may threaten arrest unless immediate payment is made.

Please remember:

  • Legitimate law enforcement will NEVER demand payment over the phone.
  • Authorities will NEVER ask you to purchase gift cards, send Bitcoin, or withdraw cash to avoid arrest.
  • Scammers use fear and urgency to pressure people into acting quickly.

If you receive one of these calls:

  1. Hang up immediately.
  2. Do not share personal or financial information.
  3. Contact local law enforcement directly if you have concerns.

Staying informed is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your neighbors.
